TARGET

TARGET COMMUNITY SITE

Target has a consistent history of community involvement. Their commitment to giving back to people throughout the country stands as a cornerstone of their business model. While Art Director at Minneapolis agency, Ham in the Fridge, I provided visual direction for the community section of the Target site. I lead an internal design team through months of strategy work to the dev-ready production of the entire site, as well as several related site elements.

TARGET HISTORY MUSEUM

Shortly after the launch of the site(s), I received a call from the lead interior designer for Target stores. He had seen our work, and asked if we would be interested in helping with an architecture project for the lobby of Target's headquarters. Though it fell squarely outside my skillset, it was a rare opportunity that could not be refused.

Building on the basic design vernacular of the Community site, I proposed a modular solution unique to the space. The room uses the connectivity of lines to draw, quite literally, a visual linkage between past and present. Though the walls are decorated with images at staggered depths, when one stands in the center of the room, there is a single, connected line from start to finish.

This multi-million dollar project is continually updated in the second floor lobby of the Target headquarters. While there were several iterations of design to finalize materials, the final output remains true to my original sketchbook concept.
